The project titled “Thermodynamics, Electroosmosis, and Electrokinetic Energy Generation in Nanochannels Functionalized with Anionic and Cationic Polyelectrolyte Brushes in Presence of Multivalent Counterions” will be supported by the Office of Science of U.S. Department of Energy.

In this paper, we develop an analytical model to quantify the ionic and non-ionic Diffusioosmotic transport at solid surfaces grafted with soft, porous films. This is Vishal’s 17th and Mihir’s 1st paper form the group. Congratulations to both!!!

Two of SMIEL’s Ph.D. students, Bhargav Sai Chava and Vishal Sankar Sivasankar have been selected for 2022 Clark School Future Faculty program. They are the 8th and 9th students from my group to be selected for this program. Many congratulations to both !!!!!

In CompFlu 2021 (Complex Fluids 2021), organized by IIT Gandhinagar & The Indian Society of Rheology (ISR), Prof. Das delivered an invited talk on “Electrokinetic Transport in Polyelectrolyte-Brush Functionalized Nanochannels: An All-Atom Molecular Dynamics Exploration“

This award recognizes one faculty member from the A. James Clark School of Engineering who is within 10 years of his/her first faculty appointment in recognition of his/her exceptional and influential research contributions and accomplishments. 

In this paper, we develop atomistic simulation models to probe the shear thinning behavior and 3D printability of graphene-flake infused epoxy inks. This is Bhargav’s 6th paper from the group. Congratulations !!!

In this paper, we develop numerical models for probing the effect of the drop impact velocity on the coalescence of two polymeric droplets. This is Vishal’s 16th paper and Ankit’s 9th paper from the group. Congratulations !!!!!

Prof. Das has been recognized as a VEBLEO Fellow and delivered a keynote talk titled “All-atom Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Polyelectrolyte Brushes” in the Webinar on Materials Science, Engineering and Technology held during 24 – 27 September 2021.
