In this paper, we review the Applications, Fluid Mechanics, and Colloidal Science of Carbon-Nanotube-based 3D Printable Inks. This is Beihan’s 5th paper, Vishal’s 18th paper, and Swarup’s 2nd paper from the group. Congrats All !!!!

In this paper, we employ atomistic simulations to devise a strategy of establishing stable contacts between a nanoparticle and a highly repulsive polymeric layer. This is both Ankit’s and Thrash’s 10th paper from the group.

SMIEL Ph.D. students Vishal Sankar Sivasankar and Bhargav Sai Chava have won the STLE (Society of Tribology and Lubrication Engineering) Philadelphia section Scholarship. Previously, four more Ph.D. students from SMIEL, Shayandev Sinha, Parth Desai, Harnoor Singh Sachar, and Turash Haque Pial had also won this Fellowship. Many congratulations to Vishal and Bhargav !!!!

Prof. Das has been elected as the Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), U. K. in recognition to his overall contribution to engineering and technology. IET is one of the largest organizations of engineers and technologists 

In this paper, we employ molecular simulations to show the pronounced effect of localized heating in triggering imbibition and mixing between two nanoconfined immiscible liquids having distinct wettability differences with the nanochannel wall. This is Raashiq’s 1st paper and Turash’s 9th paper from the group. Congrats All!!!

As a part of this recognition, Prof. Das has been invited to contribute an article to the Emerging Investigator collections of the Soft Matter journal.

SMIEL former Ph.D. student Dr. Harnoor Singh Sachar won the best Ph.D. dissertation thesis of the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the year 2021. Harnoor was the 5th Ph.D. student to graduate from the group and was the 3rd one from the group to receive this award after Guang Chen and Shayandev Sinha.

In this paper, we develop a computational model to probe the two-phase particle-liquid transport in a curved micro channel delineating the effect of Dean flow. This is a collaborative work with U.S. FDA. This is Vishal’s 18th paper from the group. Congratulations to everybody involved !!!!!

SMIEL Ph.D. student Parth Rakesh Desai successfully defends his Ph.D. dissertation on “EFFECT OF MISMATCHED BASE PAIRS ON DNA PLECTONEMES”. Parth becomes the 7th Ph.D. from the group.

SMIEL Ph.D. student Md. Turash Haque Pial successfully defends his Ph.D. dissertation on “ATOMISTIC  EXPLORATION  OF DENSELY-GRAFTED POLYELECTROLYTE  BRUSHES:  EFFECT OF  APPLIED  ELECTRIC  FIELD  AND MULTIVALENT  SCREENING COUNTERIONS”. Turash becomes the 6th Ph.D. from the group.
