SMIEL has received funding from Laboratory for Physical Sciences to carry out research on 3-D Printing based conformal electronics

This paper discusses some of the limitations of the existing scaling theories on spherical polymer brushes. This is Guang’s seventh paper and Hao’s first paper. Congratulations to both !!!!!

Prof. Siddhartha Das has been recognized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, UMD in 2016 Spring Recognition Breakfast for papers published in Scientific Reports and Nature Communications (see the link)

This paper describes the interaction of drops on soft surfaces…we reveal that drops attract and repel based on the thickness of the underlying substrate.

This paper proposes a new experimental technique for microwave-based exfoliation of nanoscale 2-D materials….this is a collaborative work with Prof. Liangbing Hu’s group.

PhD student gave a talk on “Scaling Laws for liquid and ion transport in nanochannels grafted with polyelectrolyte brushes“, MS student Joseph Andrews gave a talk on “Spreading of water nanodroplets on graphene“, and MS student Hao Li presented a poster on “Electric Double Layer electrostatics of spherical polyelectrolyte brushes with pH-dependent charge density“.
